Lionel Lyons and Eden Ratliff have taken on their new roles as Deputy City Manager for Operations and Deputy City Manager for Administration in Charlottesville, Virginia. Lyons, with four years of experience as the Deputy City Manager for Development & Operations in Petersburg, VA, will now manage the City’s Capital Improvement Plan, special projects, and operational efficiencies. His responsibilities will cover Neighborhood Development Services, Public Works, Transit, and Utilities.
Ratliff, former Manager of Kennett Township, Pennsylvania since 2019, will handle the City’s Strategic Plan Framework, special projects, capital improvement planning, and operational efficiencies in his new role. His areas of responsibility will be Budget, Finance, Human Resources, and IT.
City Manager Sam Sanders expressed confidence in Lyons and Ratliff, citing their past experiences as a strong foundation for their new roles. He also stated his anticipation to collaborate with them to achieve organizational excellence.
