A jury of six women and six men deliberated 100 minutes late Tuesday afternoon before returning a “not guilty” verdict on a rape case in Greene County Circuit Court. Wildwood Valley resident Taylor Lane Putnam, 22, was arrested at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on June 30, 2023 where he was on summer deployment with the U.S. Marine Corps after a Greene County grand jury produced a true bill direct indictment on June 12. A 20-year-old Stanardsville woman accused Putnam of rape by force or threat of intimidation for an incident that occurred on March 6, 2023.
