A Stanardsville woman who’s no stranger to the inside of a courtroom found herself in Central Virginia Regional Jail Thursday charged with two felony counts of drug possession and distribution. According to a press release from Greene County Sheriff’s Office 63-year-old Diane Marie Woodward was arrested following a search warrant execution of a Stanardsville residence. “Law enforcement officers from GCSO’s Street Crime Unit and the 3A Narcotics and Gang Task Force has been conducting an investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics,” GCSO Captain Kevin Freid said. Seized during the search was a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and oxycodone. Woodward was charged with distribution of the two Schedule I/II drugs. A magistrate set a bond of $3,000. As of Thursday afternoon, Woodward remained incarcerated. Woodward has a criminal history dating back to at least 2003 and has amassed 29 misdemeanor and felony charges in the Central Virginia region. She has at least two felony convictions. Captain Freid said the investigation remains ongoing and further charges are pending. The 3A task force is comprised of members of the Virginia State Police, GCSO, Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Albemarle County Police Department, and the DEA’s Charlottesville post of duty.
