WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – A new stormwater drainage project has started construction in Waynesboro. In July 2021, the Waynesboro City Council voted to apply for grant funding to help mitigate the stormwater issues the Hopeman Station subdivision had. On Feb. 12, 2024, construction began for this project, and the city is working towards meeting the standards for stormwater given to them by the Department of Environmental Quality.
