A portion of Old Stage Road in Greene County remained closed until around 2 p.m. Saturday after a debris fire at AmeriScrap began early in the morning. According to the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department, crews responded and began working the fire at around 1 a.m. Saturday. Portions of Old Stage Road remained closed into Saturday afternoon while crews shuttled water to the scene. More than a million gallons of water were pumped and used by around ten departments to battle the fire. No cause for the fire has been released. The fire was completely extinguished by 4 p.m. Saturday.
