City Council Approves Funding Structure Help For HCA Purchase Of Carlton Mobile Home Park

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – City Council Monday night agreed to the concept of funding Habitat for Humanity and Piedmont Housing Alliance’s purchase of the Carlton Mobile Home property. The organizations have asked the city to help fund up to $8.7-million over 5 years toward purchase of the property. City Redevelopment Manager Brenda Kelley said no actual money is committed right now, and the newly formed Habitat Carlton Alliance would have to pay some money back if the city fails to appropriate funds in any year.
