VSP trooper clocks driver going 128 mph

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Virginia State Police recently pulled over a driver they clocked by radar going 128 miles per hour in a section of highway with a 70 mph posted speed limit.

The summons was issued in Louisa County. The driver is due in traffic court on January 28 to face a charge of reckless by speed. An avoidable way to start off the new year.

In Virginia, reckless driving is a Class 1 misdemeanor. A person can be cited if they’re driving 20 miles per hour or more over the posted maximum speed limit, or if they are going faster than 85 miles per hour, regardless of the maximum speed limit.
