Middle school students compete in robotics competition at Monticello High School

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -Monticello High School hosted a robotics competition, bringing together middle school students from across the district.

They used this year’s first Lego League Challenge materials, but this was an in-house event, not officially tied to the national competition. Middle schoolers put their teamwork to the test, designing, building, and programming robots around this year’s theme.

“It can be hard sometimes because like, one, you have to come up with your idea and stuff,” 6th Grader Cameron Hoffman said. You know how these writers block? Sometimes it’s Lego block. When you finally get that good idea, you’ll just have to find the post and put it together.”…
