‘Long and difficult journey’: Family of injured National Guard soldier sets up GoFundMe

A GoFundMe account has been set up to cover medical expenses for one of two Virginia National Guard soldiers seriously injured 10 days ago in a convoy rollover crash in Dinwiddie County.

As of June 17, the account for 27-year-old Robert Dillon Moran of Staunton was at almost three-fourths of its $16,000 goal. The 165 donations thus far total $11,430.

Moran and 24-year-old Emmanuel Andre Roberts were hurt June 7 when their Humvee – part of a National Guard convoy heading to Fort Pickett in Nottoway County – overturned on U.S. Route 460 westbound in Dinwiddie. The vehicle was towing a trailer when a faulty hitch apparently caused it to go out of control and flip over multiple times…
