Ring returned to Orange County man after 63 years

In an incredible story that spans generations and miles, a lost class ring has finally made its way home — thanks to the dedication of Deputy Trey Carter.

On June 18, 2025, Deputy Carter was contacted by Buddy McQueen of Alcoa, Tennessee, who shared a unique story. Buddy’s stepfather, a former Navy SEAL, found a class ring on a beach at a Navy base in California around 1962. Despite years of trying, he was never able to track down its owner.
