Mid-Atlantic Weather Advisory: Isolated 2-Inch Rainfall and River Rises Expected by Tonight

Richmond, Va. – Scattered thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and rising creeks to central and southern Virginia late Sunday, especially across the James and Potomac river basins.

According to the Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center, storms are most likely between 4 and 10 p.m. with isolated rainfall totals reaching 2 inches. While sunshine dominates in the Delaware and Susquehanna basins further north, areas from central Virginia to southern Maryland should prepare for brief downpours and localized flooding.
