Demetrius A. Ragland, 38, of Orange, Virginia, is accused of breaking into the Citgo gas station at 540 Concord Road SE in Smyrna, with three other unidentified people on Dec. 3, 2024, at 2:18 a.m., according to an arrest warrant from the Smyrna Police Department.
Ragland and the others used a concrete saw to cut a hole in the side door of the business. Ragland and another person entered the business with the saw. Ragland then attempted to break open an ATM machine by striking it with a mallet and cutting into it with the saw. Ragland was not able to access the ATM’s cash. Someone in the group also stole over $10,000 worth of cigarettes, cigars and tobacco from the rear storage room of the business, according to the warrant.
Ragland is charged with smash and grab burglary. He was arrested on Jan. 10 at 3:50 a.m. on other charges and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
