Bridgewater College students grow fresh produce for local food pantries

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – This summer, two Bridgewater College students are growing a garden to not only gain hands-on experience, but to also plant change in their community.

The college awarded more than $100,000 in funding for 26 students to conduct full-time research under faculty supervision this summer.

Two of the selected students, Alisa Hart and Lauren Fisher, both environmental science majors, are carrying out a Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Fresh Produce Distribution in Rockingham County and the City of Harrisonburg, under the guidance of Dr. Timothy Kreps, Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Science…
