Stagnant Weather Pattern Will Continue to Bring Daily Storm Chances.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The worst of the storms has passed. Still dealing with some flooding. Remember to never cross flooded roadways. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown. As expected, Wednesday afternoon, a larger coverage of showers and storms impacted the region. Some severe, producing damaging wind gusts, some spotty hail. In addition, some flash flooding.

A stalled front nearby continues to impact the region. This front, combined with some energy aloft and daytime heating, giving rise to afternoon and evening storms. Going forward, this overall stagnant weather pattern will not really change. Now the late week, may feature lesser coverage of storms. It will still remain humid, but temperatures likely hold in the 80s. This weekend, we will still have some scattered afternoon and evening storms. At this time, at least isolated severe and some localized flooding will be possible. Remember, “When Thunder Roars, Move Indoors.” The daily chance for storms continues into early next week. We may not see a change to this pattern, until late next week.
