CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Center at Belvedere is making it easier for older adults and community members to get involved in healthy aging programs, thanks to its growing partnership with the Partnership for Accessible Transportation Help, or PATH. Virginia Peele, Strategic Communications Director at the center, highlighted the impact of this collaboration, noting that the center now has a Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) bus stop directly at its front entrance. “We’re super excited that we finally have a CAT, Charlottesville Area Transit, bus stop here at the center,” Peele said during a recent interview.
PATH, operated by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, helps individuals navigate local transportation options like CAT, Jaunt, and MicroCAT. Through the center’s workshops, participants learn to plan routes and even take field trips downtown to familiarize themselves with the system. “It’s very hands-on, very user-friendly,” Peele explained.
