Oak Hill Market shooting suspect arrested after months-long investigation

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Following months of investigation, Albemarle County police have made an arrest in connection with a May 1 shooting at Oak Hill Market and Deli that wounded two people.

18-year-old Amir Sumpter of Charlottesville faces multiple felony charges including two counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied dwelling and gang participation.

Two people were struck by gunfire in what police say was a gang-related incident. One was an intended target, while the other was reportedly in the wrong place at the wrong time…
