Felon found with drugs, sawed-off shotgun after police pursuit in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 33-year-old violent felon was hit with several charges after police say he lied to an Albemarle County officer, fled a traffic stop and was ultimately found to have both illegal drugs and a sawed-off shotgun.

At about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, an officer with the Albemarle County Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Pantops Corner Way.

Police said that the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Trevious T. Sandridge of Charlottesville, gave the officer who stopped him a false name and Social Security number. The officer also reportedly saw “what appeared to be a handgun” in Sandridge’s pocket…
