The Center at Belvedere plans sweet celebration for social wellness

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Center at Belvedere is keeping members moving and connected this summer with indoor fitness programs and special events aimed at promoting healthy aging. Executive Director Melanie Benjamin emphasized the importance of adapting to activity during warmer months. “When it gets hot and if you’ve been walking outdoors, and it gets way too hot for you to walk outdoors, what can you do with flex to continue to be fit?” She said. “Walking indoors is a great opportunity.”

Benjamin says the Center is more than just a space for exercise, it’s a place for connection. “Oh, definitely. Social connection #1,” she said when asked about the biggest benefit of membership.
