There are two and a half years to go until the end of Mike Pruitt’s first term as Scottsville District member of the Albemarle Board of Supervisors.
Between now and then, the attorney is gearing up for a run for the Democratic nomination for Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District.
“Our country is at a turning point,” reads a section of his campaign website. “The gap between working people and the billionaire class is the widest it’s been in a century. Our district is hurting, and people know it, whether they feel it in their heart or in their aching back.”
Pruitt did not have an opponent in 2023 for Supervisor. According to his website, he attended Duke University on a military scholarship and entered the U.S. Navy where he served three tours of duty.
