STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) – Despite working full time, Stephanie Mahoney still doesn’t have a place to call home.
Mahoney is one of a growing number of Virginians living in shelters or unstable housing situations while holding down steady jobs. Mahoney had been employed at a fast food restaurant in Staunton for over a year before leaving her position in hopes of finding better pay. However, her efforts to secure stable housing remain out of reach.
“I do what I’m supposed to do,” Mahoney said. “I call everyone I’m told to. But it’s like it’s not enough.”…
