Voting opens for the 2025 Caring for Community Awards

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The United Way of Greater Charlottesville is holding its Caring for Community awards.

The awards have become an annual event for the organization since the pandemic in 2020, serving as a way to recognize the community members and groups working to make a positive impact in the Charlottesville area.

“I think some of the best people in this community aren’t getting the praise they need, and so the Caring For Community gives us an opportunity to give those people their shine,” said Markiana Smith, engagement and belonging manager with the United Way of Greater Charlottesville. “It gives those people an opportunity to be heard and seen in a positive way by community members who might not know exactly what they’re doing day in and day out.”…
