The Orange County School Board met for the first time in the 2025-2026 school year last Monday. The group, still short of one member, moved forward with some policy revisions and asserted their commitment to creating a space for technology education.
The evening started with the recognition of the Orange County High School wrestling program. The boys’ and girls’ teams have been highly successful, with several individuals earning state championships making it the most successful athletic program in the county.
During public comment, a student pointed out smart watches can be turned off to not accept or make calls or texts during class hours. The student said allowing students the ability to tell time and keep track of fitness data while not violating school policy should be allowed…
