Although it is now a BP, and has been for 18 years, locals still refer to the gas station at 1864 East Side Highway in Crimora as Sammy’s Exxon.
Baber has owned the business for eight years. It’s now officially known as Sammy’s Station. Through research, Baber discovered the lease was signed with The Texas Company, also known as Texaco, on Aug. 22, 1935. This Aug. 22 the station will celebration 90 consecutive years of being in business in Crimora.
