HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -Urgie’s Cheesesteaks, known for its Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks, is preparing to celebrate seven years in business while working to keep prices steady despite inflation and supply challenges.
Urgie’s, founded by two brothers from Philadelphia, will mark its anniversary in January. The owners say they’ve faced fluctuating costs since the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in steak and other ingredients, but said they remain committed to keeping their menu affordable.
“My brother and I made a promise to our customers that we were going to do a deep dive into our costs, monthly or bi-monthly, and set our prices at market price,” Tom Urglavitch, co-owner of Urgie’s Cheesesteaks, said. “Right now, we’re weathering the storm of beef increases because we don’t want to put that on our customers yet.”…
