Last August, Charlottesville City Council agreed to purchase three properties across the city for future parks. One of them was a quarter of an acre located in the Meadows neighborhood in the northwestern portion of Charlottesville.
“It’s an empty grassy lot and what we would do with the acquisition is put it in the community’s hands with the purchase, go back to the neighborhood and say, what would you like to see?” said parks and trails planner Chris Gensic at that meeting. “The intention is a pocket park. Do you want a playground or not? Some benches? Some trees? What kind of things do you want?”
The Parks and Recreation Department are now following up with a public meeting at the Meadows Presbyterian Church at 2200 Angus Road to get feedback…
