Medical books recovered after a Rotunda fire over a century ago

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A piece of University of Virginia history has been discovered by archivists and librarians, after the 1895 fire that destroyed much of the Rotunda.

They found eighter surviving medical books that are believed to have belonged to the Department of Anatomy and Medicine.

To celebrate 200 years of classes at the UVA School of Medicine, archivists have uncovered books long believed to be destroyed…
