On this day in 1787, the framework document for the American federal government was signed in Philadelphia. The main idea embedded in the United States Constitution is to separate powers between three co-equal branches of government. The Revolutionary War overthrew monarchical control of a portion of North America and there’s a rich history well worth studying.
