The very first and the very last edition of Publick Occurrences Both Forreign and Domestick was published on September 25, 1690 in Boston in the Dominion of New England. The idea was to print monthly, but according to Wikipedia publication was to be “oftener” if there was a glut of things to report. One article in this only edition reported on treatment of prisoners of war, and that was enough for the colonial government to shut it down.
