‘Targeted act of violence’: Deputies say individuals in August shooting in Fluvanna knew each other

FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fluvanna County deputies confirmed on Friday that an August shooting is now believed to be “a targeted act of violence between individuals who knew each other” and not a carjacking.

On Friday, Oct. 3, the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office deputies announced the unidentified victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, is recovering and cooperating with authorities. A suspect — Brando Carter — remains in custody following the Aug. 28 incident, where a man was shot and a truck was stolen in Fluvanna County.
