Charlottesville City tackles invasive vines in parks

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Throughout October, Charlottesville Parks and Recreation are undergoing invasive plant control in the city’s parks.

Areas undergoing treatment will be marked for pedestrians.

Treatment efforts work to remove invasive plants impacting the Charlottesville tree canopy, wildlife, and biodiversity. After the areas have been cleared, Steven Gaines, urban forester with Charlottesville Parks and Recreation, says Parks and Recreation will replace those invasive plants with native ones…
