Bald eagle to be released after recovery at Wildlife Center of Virginia

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – A bald eagle was found in Rocky Mount that was grounded after a territorial dispute.

Connor Gillespie, director of outreach for the Wildlife Center of Virginia, said the bird was admitted to the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke before it was brought to Waynesboro.

While the eagle was not injured, Gillespie said it did have lead positioning and treatment took about a month. The first thing the Wildlife Center did was treat it to get the lead out of its system, and once the lead was removed, Gillespie said, the bird regained its strength…
