CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) is asking for help in identifying a man who entered the Charlottesville Area Technical Education Center (CATEC) asking for information regarding a student, possibly by impersonating law enforcement, on Wednesday morning.
According to CPD, the man displayed a badge to CATEC staff at approximately 10:47 a.m. at the center’s Rio Road East campus. He did, however, not present identification. In keeping with CATEC protocol, staff withheld information and requested that he leave the property. CATEC then notified law enforcement and relevant school officials.
