Walking tours give a glimpse into the history of Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society’s walking tours offer a look into the history of Charlottesville, and the stories of the people who made it happen.

“There’s so much history here in Charlottesville, and we love the history of Charlottesville, and it’s important to tell the history of Charlottesville,” said Olivia Brown, executive director of the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society.

Every Saturday until November 29, people can sign up for one of three available public walking tours. The tours’ topics include the history of Downtown Charlottesville, Court Square, and the role of Black barbers in the city — building businesses, community, and serving as activists…
