WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – According to the Waynesboro Police Department, on September 4th, a student at William Perry Elementary School reported to a teacher and school administrator that an adult put a firearm in the student’s bookbag.
With schools across the country taking more security measures to keep students safe, Mandy Lancaster, a school counselor at Kate Collins Middle School said Waynesboro Public Schools has structured process about reporting and responding to violence, that aligns closely with the policy for Virginia Schools.
