CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – When it comes to Halloween, families are looking forward to the costumes, the decorations, and the candy – not a trip to the emergency room.
As we gear up for the spookiest night of the year, doctors are warning of the potential for tricks mixed into the treats: edibles containing cannabis that can be mistaken for candy.
Doctor Chris Holstege, Executive Director of UVA Health’s Blue Ridge Poison Center, says it’s “exceedingly rare” for Halloween candy to be poisoned on purpose; what happens unintentionally though, is a different story…
