Through Hunters for the Hungry, local venison combats food insecurity across Virginia

MADISON COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Across the Commonwealth, Hunters for the Hungry works to combat food insecurity by working with meat processors and community organizations to provide hunters a way to give back with high protein food.

“It’s really an honor to be able to help the community because that’s what we should be doing for each other anyway, and it just makes a lot of sense,” said Alice Gentry-Woodfolk, co-owner of Hidden Pines Meat Processing in Madison County.

Alice and Shawn Woodfolk are co-owners of Hidden Pines Meat Processing, and through their business, have worked with Hunters for the Hungry for over 20 years to process meat and share it with families around the region…
