CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Charlottesville Police Department hosted its second Firearm Safety and Buyback Program on Saturday, November 22, giving people an opportunity to surrender unwanted firearms with no questions asked.
“It’s a great event that both allows the community to come out and get rid of any unwanted firearms and also learn a little bit about firearm safety,” said Lt. Greg Wade with the Charlottesville Police Department.
Through the event, people were able to receive gift cards in exchange for weapons surrendered to the CPD, as well as speak with representatives from ‘Be SMART,’ an organization promoting secure firearm storage and gun safety…
