CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – ReLeaf Cville spent Saturday planting trees across several Charlottesville neighborhoods, fulfilling requests gathered during its outreach earlier this fall.
Volunteers and teen team members began the day with a planting lesson before spreading through Woolen Mills, Fifeville, and surrounding blocks. The group delivered and planted trees directly at the homes that asked for them during ReLeaf’s September canvassing effort.
Organizers say the project is about more than adding shade or expanding the city’s urban canopy. It also serves as a learning opportunity for the young people involved…
