Reminder for Charlottesville Residents: Clear Sidewalks of Snow by December 6

The City of Charlottesville reminds property owners to clear snow from sidewalks after recent snowfall. City Code Section 28-25 requires owners or occupants of properties next to paved sidewalks to remove snow, sleet, and ice within 24 hours after snowfall ends. For this event, the City Manager set the end of snowfall at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2025. Sidewalks must be cleared by 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
