Fifeville neighborhood to get grocery store co-op after 20-year wait

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Fifeville neighborhood will get its first grocery store in two decades after the Charlottesville Food Co-op was selected to operate at 501 Cherry Ave.

The neighborhood has spent 20 years without a grocery store and four years fighting to get one. Residents played a massive role in selecting the grocery store operator and will have the opportunity to become part-owners through a co-op model.
