Charlottesville restaurant wins national recognition for vegan soup

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Charlottesville’s Revolutionary Soup has been recognized by PETA for its vegan spicy peanut tofu soup.

The restaurant on the Downtown Mall made PETA’s list of national “Souper Vegan Awards.” The spicy vegan specialty joins soups from Louisville, Portland, Ithaca, and Huntsville in receiving the honor, which earns them a framed award certificate from PETA.

“I’m kind of at a loss of words for the entire thing,” said Tres Pittard, the Owner and Chef at Revolutionary Soup. “I had to read the email a couple times, and I said, oh wait, this is a national thing. It took me a second to kind of gather my thoughts and say hey guys, we did this, so it’s awesome.”…
