NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Crews along Route 29 are keeping the highway and main roads mostly clear, but much of Nelson County remained slushy and slick throughout the day.
Nelson County Sheriff Mark Embrey said his deputies were tied up with snow-related incidents all morning. He said that on days like this, they see far more crashes.
“We’re seeing vehicles that are actually driving off the road and striking guardrails, embankments, or they’re making no contact with anything, but they’re getting stuck in the medians, out here on 29, and that requires our deputies to respond and put their lives at risk, other motorists at risk. They have to slow down to avoid making contact with them,” Embrey said…
