Charlottesville, VA – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Baltimore/Washington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Nelson County and the Central Virginia Blue Ridge, warning of 1 to 3 inches of snow, with localized totals up to 4 inches, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters caution that the snow will create slick and snow-covered roads, particularly along U.S. Route 29, Route 151, and mountain passes where heavier snow bands are expected. The advisory covers the full day Friday, potentially affecting both the morning and evening commutes
