CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library is accepting submissions of original creative pieces for its Teen Creative Arts Magazine, Inkling.
The magazine gives youth, aged 11-18, the opportunity to publish their creative writing and artwork. Heather Pehnec, young adult services manager at JMRL, said last year the magazine received 100 submissions — this year, she hopes to get more.
“We hope to get kids in the library to see that not only can they come visit the library as a third space to be with themselves, but to also express themselves and have their art and their creative writing available for their peers to review and enjoy, and maybe see themselves on the shelves someday,” Pehnec said…
