First Alert: High Winds and Falling Temps

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Happy Monday! Today is a First Alert Weather Day due to the hazardous conditions that come with the high winds. There is a High Wind Warning out for the Blue Ridge Mountains with concerns of winds gusting up to 60 mph. Wind Advisories out for the rest of the viewing area with concerns that winds could gust over 50 mph. This can cause power outages, damage to property, and make driving dangerous. These warnings will last into tomorrow as well, so this is something to keep in mind for the next few days.

Temperatures will be dropping throughout the day behind the cold front. We’re starting out relatively warm in the 50s, but bring your coat! You will feel much colder going home, especially with the wind.
