CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Roughly 30% of people make New Year’s resolutions, according to a UVA Health clinical psychologist who believes having a clear intention behind goals makes them more meaningful and likely to succeed.
Dr. Kim Penberthy, a UVA psychiatric medicine professor, said one key to successful resolutions is having a clear “why” behind the goal. Keeping resolutions specific also makes them more likely to stick.
