CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Volunteers work year-round to clean up waste from the Rivanna River and the land that surrounds it. Organizers leading those clean-ups said litter prevention is central to a healthy watershed.
“An important step to preserving our water quality is preventing litter from getting into the river in the first place,” said Jean Lea Gazin, river steward with the Rivanna Conservation Alliance.
