ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — An Elkton woman is in custody after an alleged murder attempt over the weekend.
Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson says that on Sunday, January 4, at 7:35am, the Sheriff’s Office and Rockingham County Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the 1600 Block of Lawson Lane in Elkton for a domestic disturbance and physical altercation.
Responders then located a male victim in need of medical treatment and was transported to Sentara RMH for treatment where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 84-year-old Wilfred Thomas Shifflett of Elkton…
