HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Community members gathered at Court Square on Friday night for a candlelight vigil to honor and remember the life of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, and all of the lives lost at the hands of ICE.
Those who attended the gathering said it also served as a reminder of why immigrants matter to the community of the Friendly City.
“They are a vital part of this community,” Johann Zimmermann, a local activist at the vigil, said. “So, whenever there’s violence against them or against anybody in this country, we are going to come together to show our love for those people and that we are united behind them.”…
