CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville will join the growing list of cities nationwide protesting in response to the shooting death of a 37-year-old mother of three on Wednesday in Minnesota, killed by an ICE agent.
At 2 p.m. Sunday demonstrators will gather at at Market Street Park for a protest organized by Indivisible Charlottesville.
“Together, we demand that our local, state, and national elected officials do everything in their power to stop being complicit with this corrupt and authoritarian administration, and stand up for our communities,” a statement from event organizers said. “That starts with a public commitment to abolish ICE, to prosecute all agents who commit criminal acts, and to use all legal powers and authorities to refuse cooperation with federal immigration agencies.”…
